The Nintendo Switch version is, «mostly done,» and will run at 60fps in both handheld and Xbox minecraft new seeds mode. The current version on Switch can only support six chunks of world on-screen, but the new edition will support 14 on screen at any one time. It means world elements will fade in at a far more natural rate, making the experience far less janky.
Bearded malcontent Dom has been writing about games for so long he’s practically forgotten what reality looks like. Over his career he’s written for just about every site and mag out there. You’ll almost always find him catching Pokémon or yelling at dragons in Skyrim. TBH bedrock edition is a serious downgrade. Redstone is broken, automated farms are broken, many mechanics don’t work anymore and all due to the engine not handling world updates well. I have nothing against mobile ports, but we had something superiour. Not PC, but Windows 10 edition.
Java edition doesn’t have the bedrock edition. I’m just hoping that the retail release date gets announced soon. Apparently I’ve been hibernating because I have not heard of this version. Is it an update, or a whole new game that needs to be purchased? I would also like to know that. Finally, it’s available on virtually every single other platform but Sony platforms, since they don’t want to agree to the mandatory Xbox account.
They must have had to jump through some serious performance hoops on the Switch to delay it so much. After Portal Knights and Dragon Quest Builders is difficult to go back to Minecraft for us. Glad they are still updating this though. I hope one day they develop a full on Minecraft 2 or whatever, doubt it however. I have been playing Portal Knights as of late.
